Dallas native Topasana Sansom, better known as
"Top", has been entertaining primarily in the Dallas/Fort
Worth metroplex for the past 15 years. A self-taught vocal sensation,
Top has developed a sound unlike any other. His range spans well
over three octaves and the strength and stamina of his remarkable
voice allow him to sing consistently night after night without fail.
Some of his fans have been known to describe him as "One of
the most talented and exciting entertainers in Texas." Others
say "His vocal ability and range is unlike any other singer
weve ever heard." Another says "Its absolutely
amazing the talent this man has, all right here in our own backyard!"
Top first put his mark on the Dallas music scene
in 1984 when he became the lead singer for the well-known band Dallas
Brass & Electric ("DB& E"). After several successful
years with them he eventually moved on to front a number of other
Dallas cover bands such as The Rhythm In Motion (T.R.I.M.), Groove
Posse, and Cuvee. While with Cuvee, Top had numerous appearances
on Channel 8s Good Morning Texas where host Paula McClure
consistently featured him as one of Dallas/Fort Worths finest
musicians.
Top easily distinguishes himself from all of the
other singers in this industry because he doesnt just sing
he entertains. That is what Top is all about. He pours
himself into every song and becomes that artist with his uncanny
ability to manipulate his voice to sound just like them. Some of
his specialties are Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Sting, Mic Jagger
and Barry White. When you see Top perform there is literally never
a dull moment. Whether you are one who likes to dance and be part
of all the action or just sit back and watch the performance, Top
offers something for everyone to enjoy!
Tops talents lay not only in live performances,
but in the studio and as a writer as well. You can frequently hear
his voice on radio stations all over the United States singing radio
spots and station tags. Writing has always been a passion for Top
and he is currently working on his second original CD, which is
scheduled to be released at the end of this year.
